Sian is a member of the firm's Commerce & Technology department. She deals with a range of agency, distributorship, intellectual property, commercial, data protection and competition law matters, in both a contentious and non-contentious setting. Sian regularly advises both agents and principals on their respective rights and obligations under the Commercial Agents Regulations, with a particular interest in advising on termination of agencies. Sian also advises both suppliers and distributors on their domestic and international supply arrangements, helping clients gain maximum benefit and protection from their distributorship agreements.
Sian graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2003 with an honours degree in English and French Laws with French. She spent a year in France and gained a Licence in French Law from the University of Bordeaux IV. Sian completed the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law Chester. She went on to qualify as a solicitor at Wragge & Co in 2007, having completed her training there. After qualifying, Sian obtained a post-graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice from the University of Bristol in 2008 and joined Fox Williams as an associate in 2009.
Recent highlights of Sian's work in the field of agency and distribution include:
- advising agents on their entitlements on termination;
- advising principals on their arrangements for termination of poorly performing agents;
- drafting and negotiating cross-border distribution agreements for a leading fashion brand.
